Concerts at the Cadillac is a free concert series open to the public.  The purpose is to provide high-quality, uplifting music for the residents of the Cadillac Hotel and San Francisco's Tenderloin District.

The Cadillac Hotel is home to the Patricia Walkup Memorial Piano, a meticulously restored 1884 Steinway Model D concert grand piano.  The case is of Indian Rosewood and the old growth spruce soundboard is the piano's original.  The piano spent it first 70 years or so in a castle in Holyoke, Massachusetts.  It was shipped from New Haven, Connecticut, to the Cadillac Hotel in June, 2007.  This beautiful instrument is maintained on a regular basis.

SHAWN SKYLARK
Pianist/Composer
Concert of Solo Piano and Voice
Shawn Skylark was born in Brooklyn and grew up on Long Island during the 50s and 60s.   He’s played keyboard in bands since the seventh grade.  At 19, he studied piano & composition at London’s pretigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama.  During the 1980s, Shawn was a working musician in Los Angeles.  He is a Registered Piano Technician with the Piano Technicians Guild — and regularly works on some of the greatest instruments ever built.  We are fortunate to have Shawn maintain the Steinway Model D here at the Cadillac.  Shawn recently released his CD, Still Life — Ten Pieces for Solo Piano, a beautiful collection of his own compositions, played with an extraordinary degree of sensitivity.  It is available at www.cdbaby.com and highly recommended.  Don’t miss Shawn Skylark at the Cadillac Hotel on September 26!  Visit Shawn Skylark's website by clicking on the following link:   www.shawnskylark.com
